Daniel is reading No More Mr. Nice Guy
Nope, this isn't it. Barely made it past chapter 2, with all its mother blaming and urinal-cake sociology. Our problem is generations of men raised to please women? Get out of here.

Some of the actual psychological insights seem promising, but I'm going to keep searching elsewhere. I need a book on "men's issues" that's going to be explicitly pro-feminist and disavowing of Men's Rights Activism.

Just started the essay by Hanya Yanagihara, and I'm in love. I need to read everything she's ever written. She has a style somewhat similar to Wojnarowicz in the way that she effortlessly weaves imagery and affect into the narrative, but something else I haven't figured out yet. A true gem in an already deeply satisfying book.

Amy Kind came through, really working with some of Douglas's ideas. Then Goodenough had to ruin it talking shit about people with autism. DNA would not, I think, approve. You keep Marvin's name out of your keyboard, sir.

I wish they would engage with thgttg as a philosophical text rather than utilize some of the good bits as a springboard to explore their own philosophical writing. I remain cautiously optimistic

The Kyle Gann essay is lovely. Respectful without trying to gild the lily or polish the turd. He actually engages with Eastman's music and legacy and exposes the reader to information that might help understand the work being performed by his music. He doesn't try to position himself as an expert but rather as someone who knew and appreciated him.
