I let a lot slide because I know the author is older and Welsh but the way she speaks of immigrants is pissing me tf off. Gots to see it through my boy

There have been quite a few comments about people not appreciating the world around them or not having to go through what she did. I don’t mind the memoir aspects of this book, but I don’t think that the author’s commentary on people she deems “less than” is necessary.

I try not to fault people for some of their less harmful world views, but the author continues to shit on people who just don’t see things the way that she does or don’t use what she does—For example, talking shit about folks who use mind altering substances while talking about drinking wine. Like ma’am, come on.

This is already YA and the narrator sounds like a 12 year old 😩 I did appreciate the recap at the beginning and reminder of details throughout.

Repetitive stuff can irk me but it wasn’t EXCESSIVE and I had a BALL reading this. Virgin trope (which I also hate) did it for me with this one. Loved the banter and the side characters. I have questions about how the villain pulled off what they did but I could not stop listening to this!
