Tamara Mitchell is finished with The Soul of a Woman
Very thoughtful book and well written. If you have never thought about how hard women have had it throughout history, this recaps it all. It makes you realize how very important women's right are...and thar we must not let them be taken away.

Tamara Mitchell is finished with NEW-The Bohemians: A Novel
I am fascinated by this era, so reading this book was spellbinding. Darznik did her homework and was able to transport us to a time and place that used to exist, but now is gone along with the people and politics of that time. Read this book if you love stories about women with guts and stories set at the turn of the last century.

Tamara Mitchell is finished with The Travelling Cat Chronicles
Journeys of a cat finding his person, then....well, just read it. It might seem sad, but it isn't.

Tamara Mitchell is on page 81 of 304 of The Radio Operator
A common man caught up in the Nazi web of influence and espionage because he happens to love ham radio. Once ensnared, he finds it hard to escape. The way the book is written, it is a bit hard to follow because it jumps around in time...pre-war, during the war, and post-war. When you need money and have a unique skill, it is easy to get swept into a lucrative job with flattery. Times were tough and what is actual

Tamara Mitchell is finished with Awakening the Gods (Rise of the Celtic Gods, #1)
Irish fantasy set in today's world. I became immersed in the characters, the story, the suspense and I plan on reading the two following books in this series. It was a bit disconcerting throughout the book that it kept changing from first person to third person even within a chapter. Not sure if this was intentional, but I found it odd. Other than that, it is a good tale and a page'turner.

Tamara Mitchell is reading Revolutionary Summer: The Birth of American Independence
I am neither a history buff, nor a fan of war books. But, this book brings to life the key players and their thought processes throughout the early days of the American Revolution, development and signing of the Declaration of Independence, and subsequent war from the invasion through the treaty with France and withdrawal of troops from New York. I love that it gets inside the minds of the commanders and other key

Tamara Mitchell is 99% done with Wuthering Height
I absolutely hated this book! 30 pages from the end, I finally decided to stop wasting time on it. Horrible, mean, self-centered people in a depressing and hopeless story. I don't know why anybody would ever recommend this book. SUCH a waste of time! There is no redeeming value, no moral to this story, no happy ending, no lovable characters. Move on to the next book on your shelf!

Really lovely book about a girl being sold into and growing up in the silk industry in China during the era leading up to the Great Depression and during the GD. A scary time with Japanese and communist powers. I'm anxious to see how it all ends.

Tamara Mitchell is reading The Autumn of the Patriarch
Gave up. This book is very difficult to read and not a pleasant story once you manage to decipher the faux-illiterate writing. What a disappointment from Gabriel Garcia Marquez! There was nothing about this book that made me want to continue reading, so I'm moving on to something else.
