I'm excited about the confrontation. And very surprised to find out how deep and interesting the original story is.

Just finished the first part. I was worried for a while it would move away from the monster. And it is interesting that at this point it is impossible to say he is actualy evil.

Explaining fantasy with science is probably the worst idea someone has ever had.

Let's just admit fighting a dragon by throwing helmetsfull of water at it is an ugly picture

The weeks have been hectic. I'm glad I have this kind of light and fun book to read in the short amount of time I have available each day.

Really fun read. It never fails to improve my humor as a commutation read. The format, somewhat like very short stories, is perfect for it too.

Seems good so far. Poul Anderson is someone I definitely should read more. He's different from any fantasy author I've ever seem. And one of the few who can make read sci-fi and like it too.

Let's just say the ugly redhead does grow on you. At this point there's not a single main character that I don't find endearing in some way or another. Yeah, even Rachel Lynde. In fact... she's been my favorite from the start. The thing is: every character is petty in some way or another, but it's all interwoven with just enough redeeming qualities as to demand a charitable fondness for them.

I love the writing. And I'm kinda warm to Anne despite finding her a bit annoying. Her interactions with Mr Matthew are cute.

"Shallan had found that no matter how bad things got, someone would be making tea."

Well, some say that's what Brughel's Icarus and Auden's Musee des Beaux Arts is about. =)

Well... I wish I could read a bit more. But it's time to breath in some stormlight and: back to programming I go.

And let me say this one thing. This book is gargantuan. Words of Radiance was huge and it would have ended by now, but I still have one third of Oathbringer to go. Not a complaint... just an observation.

I have to say it again. Parshendi are the most interesting fantasy race I've ever seen. The way they are presented, between the doubts of them being somehow telepaths, then listeners or singers, shows how much Sanderson understands how to create a web of different character perspectives that points to, and might eventually converge on a revelation of, their true nature.

The second part is a lot better than the first. And I really like the fact that Bridge 4 members are getting more screen time.
