Such a delight. A gentle interesting novel about one of my favourite topics - cooking. In addition, the book is set in the 1960s and covers 1964 - my birth year - interesting to hear about the history written as it is occurring (fictionally of course). An added bonus is its discussion of Paris and Seattle’s Pike Place Market which captivated me on my visit.

I remember the serious concern over Y2K

This book has already made the faux pas of misrepresenting librarians - not everyone who works in a library is a librarian and it’s extremely rare for a librarian to be the person who checks out the book. My hill to die on. Will need to work hard to win me over.
