Page-turner!!

Great book so far! Digestible and helpful first-hand examples that really resonate with me. I think it would resonate with most.

Good but slower than I imagined. Reviews called it exciting, so I expected it to be a little faster-paced. I do love his details. It has been a long time since I read Invisible Man, but reminds me of that first-hand account from a narrator who feels largely unseen.

So far this book is a little slow but fascinating enough to keep reading. It's an interesting story about the lives of people and how they depended on one another during slavery. It's maybe the first story I've read that highlights the enslavement of African Americans by other African Americans.

FANTASTIC, but dense. There's listening, too.
