This was a great book, totally believable characters, excellent prose, great plot - and it was hard to put down. Loved it! I’m going to check out her first book, knowing it’ll be different in so many ways but, this is an author I’d like to follow. RECOMMEND! It also helped that I was the captain on my HS basketball team & secretly gay without anyone suspecting so I could totally relate to both Will and Ollie.

I've read many of the Joe Pickett novels and this by far is the best. If you buy this book thinking its going to be centered on Game Wardenship, well it's not. Joe is a game warden but this is a murder/thriller in which Joe is the key character. If you know that going in only enjoy this book immensely. I sure did. The best Joe Pickett novel, period.
