Juliane read this, so I also read it. I don't have much to say about this novella, so it might not get a podcast.

Re-read for the SFBRP Must-Read list. Maybe a podcast about it agin? Not sure. Maybe I'll listen back to the previous podcast to see if I have more to add.

Probably going to give up on this. I liked the concept so much, but unfortunately the execution is so sub-par it's just a slog to get through.

Done. It’s not a novel though. The first time I read lord of the rings it was a single volume edition, so it feels strange to have a stopping point right here. I think I’m going to go on with The Two Towers right away.

Done! And I even went back and listened to the preface, the second preface, and the "letter by Tolkien". Why is that letter included? Why include a summary of the book with the intention that the summary be read before you read the book itself? Madness!

I think this is going on the DNF list. I don't like gangsters or organised crime or crime bosses, and I don't find stories about them interesting or entertain, and so there's very little in this book so far (at 40%) that is interesting me. Why am I spending so much time with an angry violent masochistic narcissist? It's just not pleasant.
