2.5 stars The dogs are the best part, but Suzy Bear is a dumb name for a dog. I am a glutton for punishment or perhaps just hopeful, so I’ll try one more.

The story line is good, the writing is not. From a detective with experience, comments like “wow” and “oh my God” aren’t reactions that should/would be vocalized. Someone just asks for a pop and she know immediately that they are from the East Coast. That is wrong, people from the Midwest say “pop,” people from the East Coast say soda.

Ehh. I am so tired of reading books with men who cheat on their spouses.

3.5 stars- I enjoy this series, but each one is basically the same, with a lot of repetition. I also found this one to be predictable.

DNF I made it to page 193 and realized I didn’t care about either character and reading the remaining 200 pages would be painful. I really enjoyed the last book I read by Julie Murphy, and was disappointed by this one.

There’s a reason I stopped reading Danielle Steel books-perfect people like these don’t exist. There is so much repetition I feel like I’m reading a kids book.

It’s never a good sign when you check to see how many pages are left.

I gave it a shot, but once they started their own business, realized I didn’t care what happened. DNF

I really enjoyed this book right up until the last several chapters where it kind of fizzled out. Apparently there is another book in the series that has not yet been translated. If/when it does, I would consider reading it.

I’m only on page 76, but so far I love this book!

I’ve read about half of this book. It’s well done, but with such a heavy subject, I think I’m going to stop where I’m at.

Maybe 2.5. I have enjoyed most of the Ali Reynolds books, but this one had very little of her in it. Instead, it mostly had Stu and Cami. One of the biggest issues I had with it, was the reference to a gang rape as “that mess.” And went onto to say that everyone has done dumb things in their youth. A rape goes far beyond “a dumb thing.”
