This is a very tough book to get back into after not having read it for a few days. I'm losing the thread of family lines and historical events...

The main character's daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter are all named Isabel. Why make it needlessly more difficult to understand the book you're writing??

As a philosophical and political exercise, I love this book. The actual words on the page, somewhat less so.
