Just started this, and I'm blown away by the prose. Absolutely incredible writing.

Incredible quote from early on in this book: "Maybe that was the trouble; maybe she just wasn't crazed enough. True derangement stopped at no boundaries. Mad enough to wish for what she was not mad enough to grasp--now there was a singularly useless lunacy."

Doing a little re-read of this book. It's been sooo long since I read it that I remember almost nothing. Struggling with momentum and pacing atm.

This book started slow, but it's really picking up now and I'm hooked!

I started reading this last night and it was hard to fall asleep after imagining this creepy person standing stock still in head to toe black robes staring at the bistro! Freaky!

I really like this book but don't pick it up every day. The world is heavy and sad and scary and sometimes I gotta choose the fluff book.
