So, up until this point the stalker+killer hadn’t kidnapped anyone but escalated to snatching Lucy and killing a security guard in one fell swoop?? Also why was Lucy not wake up while being carried? Was she drugged? Knocked out? Chocked until she passed out? How come none of that was mentioned by the medical staff that checked her over? 🤔

Hmm, the dialogue is kinda stilted. It’s doesn’t feel very organic — like nobody really talks like this. 🥲

I was on my way to being understanding and sympathetic towards Callie… and then she had to just throw the whole “I don’t want to take this slow anymore” in Lewis’s face! WTACTUALF? Was it not her that said she wanted to figure out what she wanted from this relationship therefore the logical thing for him was to suggest taking it slow?! Now she’s mad again bc he’s upholding his end of the bargain?! 😑

Wow… the high that I felt from the perfection that was “Skies of Caledonia” I now feel nothing but abject disappointment for this. I— how— Samantha Young made me love Callie for so many books but once I finally got to her story I absolutely can’t stand her. I’m trying so hard to be understanding of her plight but holy stars I want to scream at her! Frustrated — that is what she makes me feel now 😓

Also, this is a prime example of why I hate the “brother’s best friend” trope. It feels outdated and super misogynistic. Bc 1) this trope is largely written as though the sister has no say in whom she gets to date. 2) why would you not want your sister to date your boy?? Are you saying you’re such a bad judge character that you would hang around with someone who would intentionally hurt your sister? 😓

Uh… hmm… idk how I feel about this MMC. He comes off immature, entitled, and not emotionally regulated. Yes, he is upset but his violent outburst seems like an overreaction. 😥 All I’ll say is, there is not enough story for me to feel as though he won’t take out his rage on the FMC if he doesn’t get his way.

I’m sobbing. Why is this meeting between Rachel and Wynter so flipping painful? Angst filled. Maybe because it’s tinged with hope…
