Felt I should re-read this. :-)

Dense and fun

Slow going. A good reference book

Reading this to Wilder. He loves it. Can’t wait for Bruno and Boots

I've changed my mind and am starting to enjoy this book a lot. It fills in lots of gaps and complements MacCulloch's "History of Christianity"

The few things I know something about, in this book, are largely wrong.

This makes me wonder if the rest is also wrong.

Didn't finish on vacation. Mildly self-conscious since the film came out - it's a coincidence I promise.

Bland. In the free little library.

In the cottage we’re renting. Fun beach read.

Enjoyable to read this just after the Hoover bio. His CIA involvement is oversold.

Fantastic information, dryly written

Loved the introduction and translator's note, although at 100 pages a bit of a slog.

one page a day at bedtime

Up to chapter four, in which he gets ignored by his dad (and thrown in the lake). putzes around at Yale, and bemoans not having more interesting war service.

Still, the wasp in me loves this book.
