I love this so far!

So far, I kind of hate this. The main character got kicked out of her dorm because of something her roommate caused? It's highly unrealistic that either of them would get kicked out for this, but definitely ridiculous that she got kicked out without any real explanation. Also the fact that "nobody sees her" annoys me, because she is, in fact, NOT ACTUALLY INVISIBLE. So it sort of feels like an introvert pity party.

And d&d references! My God, I think this book was written just for me.

So this audio book is narrated by the same guy who reads the Emperor's Blades by Brian Stavely and it is MESSING WITH MY MIND.

He also keeps mentioning how people who are into fantasy stuff MUST be lunatics or "not normal" freaks. Even though he literally likes all this stuff too. He is just coming off as *super* insecure

I mean, I guess I am lucky to have grown up in a time that was more accepting of the fantasy genre as a whole and was able to believe that my friends will still like being friends with me even though they also know I like D&D and cosplay. But this dude just seems like he's in denial, and that instead of embracing his geek, he wants to explain it away as an escape from the bad things in his past.

Well....so far, this guy just seems like he's got some real issues with just admitting that he's a giant nerd. Judging himself and not embracing who he is and what he enjoys because maybe his friends will suddenly decide to stop liking him? Because NOW they'll know he's just too weird. Because he does things like READ TOLKIEN. And PLAY D&D.
