After I read the first story (the eponymous "Kleptomania") I was so shook and upset that I've not been able to return to the book. I felt violated given what was portrayed was effectively an assault on a teen—something both as a reader, parent and writer I could not deal with. Whilst this happens in the real world, not sure I wanted to read it.

The stuff about messy vs clean offices really rang true given what we've seen with the desire of bosses to want to control (or at least have) 'clean' workspaces. Clearly not a good idea.

Began by reading the murder mystery “Body in the backyard” Finished it in a single sitting. A lot of diverse thoughts

It starts strong with a story of how a bad piano forced a performer to produce a super hit live recording and does a great job of spanning multiple issues whether routing problems in chip design, music creation, scientific discovery or business model reinvention can benefit from the “alertness” that an unexpected change or ‘messiness’ can produce

I never ceased to be amazed at the courage writers such as @Tim McCarthy in this instance or @Shoba Narayan in other context, are prepared to reveal of themselves so that we as readers may learn from their experience. I hope I'll have the same courage when it comes to writing myself.

Finally working my way through this amazing book and trying to apply it for two different folks in 20+ age and 55+ age group :)

Absolutely fascinating to see how Krishnadevaraya was influenced by Sangam poetry and nice to re-acquaint myself with George Hart's work - and fascinating to see how Buddhism is treated as much a Hindu belief system as materialism, non-believers, dvaita, advaita and vishishta advaita

The book has grown on me steadily, I'm finding the latter parts more reflective and insightful. Might be more a reflection of where my head is at present.
