This is a good one! Grisham captures the social expectations and pressure we have created around the holiday. I’m glad I’m reading this in January.

1955 Newberry winner: Storks nest on roofs in Holland when a wagon wheel is lifted there for a base for the nest. This is about a town without storks and their efforts to attract them.

I would have quit a print version, but the audio is worth going forward. Lila is feeling sorry for herself and mad at the world… does she redeem herself??

The contrast between the old man’s thoughts and the observations of his carers are heartbreaking.
