Finished book 1. Decent read. But the MC's tendency to talk about her co-leads eyes is starting to bug me. I don't care if it is magic.

Ivy just did exactly what I thought she would. Why are half these characters such selfish idiots?

idk whether I want to finish this. I'm on a Wylm chapter, and I think I'm supposed to be feeling good things about him because he tried to save the child, but I really just want him not to exist in this book, or at least for him to reach his inevitable end very soon.

It's not a bad story for something I picked up for free, but there are signs that the 18 year old protagonist and the 30 year old dude that kidnapped her and is keeping her prisoner (to stop her powers being used by the bad guy i guess) fall in love. Which is... yeah I have problems with that.

Little bored to be honest, and I'm struggling to find a reason to care about any of the characters.

This is the last time I'm going to post about this, I swear (for now anyway). I have two more ebook ARCs for the Mosaics Anthology to give away. All I'm asking for in return is a fair amazon review on March 8.
The anthology has fiction, poems and essays from 20 female authors including Hugo Award Nominees, Pushcart Prize Winners and USA Today Bestsellers. Its also amazing.
Message me your email if you'd like one.

Some of you may have noticed (actually I doubt anyone noticed) that I've changed to an author profile. A short story I wrote was accepted into Vol 1 of Mosaics: A collection of Independent Women. I swear, I won't be using my goodreads to promote a lot, but I'm really excited so I wanted to share the news of my first official publication.

I would have liked a stronger plat and more of the character in this story.

The Grenade Garden by Michael Moorcock: What just happened? If there was a plot in this, I missed it. Do you have to be familiar with Jerry Cornelius to understand? Or is this just pay back because the first three "Weird Fantasy" stories made complete sense?

Time's Mistress by Steven Savile: the life and death of a wife of a sultan. I didn't actually read this one all the way though, I found the dialogue-info dump/life story-dialogue-info dump structure boring, and the whole thing overwritten in general.

In general goo, but I felt the end was a little disconnected from the rest of the tale.
