Really enjoyed this! I am mostly only familiar with rap from the lates 80s, the 90s, and early 2000s, and then skip ahead to now. But didn’t know much about the early years or even much about many of the rappers. Gave me a lot of fascinating facts as well as a better understanding of this history.

This was my book of 2019- I started listening to this then got a library book then my own copy, but totally worth it because I ended up wanting to take my time to read it. I am not usually a memoir person, but was so won over. Her story is so compelling and she’s so fascinating. I felt that she was very introspective and gave great history and context to her story, except when I came to the White House years. I think
