I love her music so was disappointed when it took me awhile to get into this book. (Admittedly, that may have nothing to do with the book itself but more my state of mind.) Anyway, for anyone else reading this, on pages 184-185 she has the most wonderful concise description of the creative process. she even mentions the danger of losing your notebook in an airplane seat back pocket. Spot on.

I hope this book gets better. So far, items slapstick comedy about mental Illness and, well, I just don’t find it funny…yet.

This book is a tough one to get through because it is so rich with valuable tips! I sometimes walk around banging my head wondering “What should I write about?” Then, I pick this up and have to keep pausing to add ideas to my writing idea bank spreadsheet. While some of the tips are outdated due to the evolution of technology, the heart of this is spot-on.

Wow! He is such a great storyteller! I’ll finish this in just a few days.

I want to like this book. I really do, but dang I am finding it really difficult to get through. Am I alone?

Welp, I could have written parts of the first chapter about myself so this should be a fun tearjerker.

The fantastic descriptions of the setting remind of what I enjoyed about The Night Circus. Otherworldly, indeed!

Sometimes the right book comes into my life at the right time. This is one of those books.

A beautiful, short book about life and dying. I had to pause my reading of the epilogue as it caused my own memories & emotions to swell.
