Started reading this while sitting by the local pool in 34⁰C heat in Melbourne. Curious book so far. Mystery and meaning stuff. And sunshine.

Written with such detail and feeling, for such a man (character not author) who hides so much of his own feelings even from himself, that you can't help seeing how much he is missing around him. I'm anxious for Stevens and what is approaching. Compelling and rich writing.
