Eh... It's OK so far, but I really don't gel with the narrator.

For a summer read, the tone is rather downer so far and harder to get into.

Started a little slowly (they didn't meet until maybe 12%?), but it's been going nicely since. Jackson's freezing rain monologue has me LOLing lol

Chris is just too cute and funny lol

This is fun, cute, and breezy, and I'm really liking it.

This is so silly but so fun at the same time. I'm loving the format of text exchanges that have been the bulk of the story so far.

This has definitely grown on me. Love me a road trip caper!

The whole clumsiness/running into each other shtick is rather farcical and growing a bit tiresome.

Scarlett annoys the hell out of me, too. Maybe college age stories just aren't for me.

Scarlett's a little neurotic, and Lukas is rather closed book. We'll see how the kink negotiations and play work out.

This is quite a redemption arc for a CAD but yes... It def is working because I like Colin very much (surprisingly).

OK, time jump back is slow going. The set up is just taking too long, and the h hasn't even encountered the H on page yet.

Now, why did they time jump back? That was a very gripping (though devastating) opening chapter!

Feels a little late in the book for the emotions not to make any appearance and motivations still to be simply lust and carnal desire.

The absolute shitty shittiness of what's going on at this work project sets my teeth on edge.

OK, so I super likely know how this is all going to unfold, AND the characters are kind of typical of other Ali Hazelwood books, but I still want to see it happen! 😂

About halfway in (while reading an omnibus, so I'm guessing here based on chapter count). This world is pretty solid, though the writing isn't gripping me. I'll finish this because I have a completion complex but not sure if I'll read the rest of this very long series.

"Gentlemen do not swear," she told him primly.

"I am a nobleman, my dear. Sometimes, there is a difference," he reminded her.

"You are longer of limb than I thought," he murmured appreciatively, and grinned.


Funny the things that I, as a reader, remember. This line has stuck with me for literal decades.
