I'm trying really hard to at least push until the first kiss but FML the story itself is so bad. The FBI agents are idiots. The criminals are caricatures. The writing feels so subpar, in a way that a poor translation cannot excuse, that I am utterly baffled how it has gotten licensed and such a high rating. Would not recommend. Just read some Hannibal fanfic instead to feed your fix-much better writing there.

FBI continues to be super dumb and do literally none of the things they should do. Why is this highly rated? Is it because there's so little to choose from in this category? Ridiculous

Not sure how long I'll read this for if it doesn't improve. Writer is displaying a depressing tendency to dumb down characters to make a main character seem more intelligent. Or maybe for the writer these really are amazing deductions. Shouldn't be, since my brain reached the conclusions the instant I read the paragraph on the crime and these are supposedly experienced FBI agents and profilers. So frustrating. UGH

How is this rated so highly? What an unlikable character. Literally been grossed out from the very first sentence. Gonna be a DNF from me. Ew.

Honestly loving this story so far

Well written, but starts getting choppy with the viewpoints about a quarter through. I'm guess that would seem more fluid on paper. On the audiobook there's no break in the viewpoint transitions most of the time so it's a bit jarring.

Okay so far, but not as interesting as it sounded like it would be. Early days yet though I guess.

Well so far I find the main character extremely annoying. Entitled. Spoiled. Whiny. And, thus far, not very intelligent. Hopefully that changes soon. Ugh.

Judgmental, thoughtless, heedless, and often unintelligent. Scarlet is the most unlikeable character in this book. She came across better in the glimpses we got in the Once Upon a Broken Heart series. May not finish. Kind of a struggle read honestly.

I absolutely LOVED the Once Upon a Broken Heart series and had heard good things about Caraval, so I went in hopeful, but so far I'm not the biggest fan. Not even sure I'll finish it. Scarlet is an annoying and unlikeable character and...not a fan of some of the pacing.
