Insufferable client. Unlikeable attorney. Not a great start. Hoping it picks up.

Slogging thru a beginning that feels like it’s trying a little too hard to be John Irving. Listening on Audible so it’s a tad easier to stomach, but the reader isn’t doing the story much justice. Hoping to gut it out as a fellow Buckeye. But there needs to be more than that.

Agenda-driven propaganda (programming) is ramping up.

Decent principles to follow. Not convinced about the purely plant based approach and some philosophies feel a bit new agey, clearly aren’t Christian-based. So dug into the author’s background a little…possible agenda coated w platitudes.

Heavy-handed boomer era propaganda in this one so far. Won’t touch the other rail I’ve noticed quite yet. But the nostalgia factor is fine and got me turning the page a little quicker one we hit 75 or so.

The smugness of the Russo chapters is off putting. Throws the narrative off-kilter.

Makes sense that it’s read by Wheaton. Emanates a lot of beta energy. I don’t remember this from earlier Scalzi I’ve read. Past couple definitely feel a little nasally.
