This is the best book I've ever read. I say that sincerely, in all seriousness. I've never encountered anything so thought-provoking. Nothing eve ncomes close. I think about this book all the time. I'm not exaggerating. This is the greates piece of literature I've ever encountered. I don't know how I'm going to review it when I finish it.

I want to finish it. I really do. But I just can't stay interested.

The first potato-peeler book I might enjoy all the way through without the assistance of an Audible narrator.

I can't get my head out of this book. I can't get this book out of my head. I'm enmeshed. Engrossed. Loving it like I haven't loved a book in a long time. And I have no idea why.

The split infinitives are driving me nuts. Come on, dude. Every other paragraph is another split infinitive.

Okay, the detailed, graphic descripion of moth sex was FUCKEN NASTY. I did NOT need that. Jesus Fucking Christ, China. What. The. Hell.

Uber fast-paced. Maybe a little too fast. My head is spinning.

So, here's the thing. Why do I hate China's books in print, but love them (or at least really like them most of the time) on audio?

This is every bit as rivetting as the best dramatic fiction. No joke. I seriously can't put it down. Tuchman makes me feel like I'm there, in the middle of those tense days leading to the war, not knowing the outcome in advance.

Meh ... I mean, it's not bad or anything. It's just, well ... it's John Scalzi, and you pretty much know what you're gonna get from him.

FINALLY!!! A book by the potato-peeler that I actually, really like and enjoy!

One of the things I love the most about Iain Banks--and there are a lot of things I love about him--is his ability to put the reader in the character's head. The way he write's about one character's growing, evolving love for a woman he's only known a few months ... I think I'm in love with her, too.

It's okay. Not up to his usual standards so far.

Unique and interesting beginning.

Accessibly written but does help to have some finance and economics background (which I do, so I'm good, but I have friends who would have a hard time with some of this).

Nobody uses the English language like UKL. NOBODY. I sip and savor her words like a fine brandy. They even warm me as they go down.

I was a little skeptical of whether Kevin Pariseau was the right narrator for this book, but he quickly proved that he can handle it. I am pleasantly surprised with how well Pariseau is handling the different voices and accents.

The second half of the book really gets into the science. Great stuff.

Had an emergency apendectomy a couple days ago. I strongly suggest that you try to avoid having your apendix becoming enflamed and ready to burst. I've had kidney stones before, and those were a walk in the park compared to an apendix leaking fluid in my abdomen.
