Didn’t finish. The character who was obsessed with iris becomes so creepy and I just knew he would abduct her and I didn’t want to be creeped out by reading about it.

The author likes to jump back and forth between time lines. I’m at pg 29 and already we’ve been in feb. 1970, dec 1968, august 1968, February 1917 and back to August 1968.

P 156. Getting a little tired of the wimpy, insecure new mistress of Manderley. Grow a pair already!!!

I’ve just begun rereading her 1938 masterpiece. Gripping from the first page and so beautifully written. I read this many years ago and don’t remember all the details so I’m looking forward to a slow, savory read.
