I’ve just begun rereading her 1938 masterpiece. Gripping from the first page and so beautifully written. I read this many years ago and don’t remember all the details so I’m looking forward to a slow, savory read.

After a good start I became a bit tired of the wimpy, helpless new mistress of Manderley. Tried hard to cut her some slack due to her youth (also had to remind myself it was written in 1938). Twists and turns eventually reminded me why I loved the book the first time.
