I’m giving up. This is so depressing! I don’t even remember why I wanted to read this. But this is not what I need right now.

So this is a lot harder to read than I realized. I really hope it has a good ending. This is way heavier than I would normally ever pick.

“Sterling frowned but his grin was visible beneath his beard.” Then what did he frown with?

I love the book. I don’t love Yonder. It takes so long. But of course I will follow RD anywhere.

I’ve got 38 minutes left in this one so I’m just guessing at the percentage. But I’ve got to say this: ugh. The writing annoys me a lot. “His brain shattered.” No, it actually didn’t. Did it get hit? No. Did he have a psychological break? Nope. He’s just freaked out. I don’t know why but it just annoys me so much. That’s just one example of many. It’s a thriller but overly dramatic. 🙄

I’m struggling to find this one. It started off with the characters avoiding each other and basically stayed that way for 40%. That drives me nuts.
And now we get to a character named Narcissus. Like really?

Yikes. This needs an editor. Stake instead of steak. Plus some other issues. Like is there NO ONE proofing this?

WTF there’s like two paragraphs, where it sounds like the author couldn’t decide if she wanted the main character to be Liza or Eve. Because she changes up who was kidnapped. I haven’t even figured out which one is supposed to have been kidnapped at this point. Do these authors have zero proofreaders? Even a non-editor should catch some of these.

It’s cute but it reminds me of why I don’t read contemporary romance. I was having anxiety five minutes in. I don’t love real life stuff.

It’s interesting. Although I will say it’s a bit disappointing that cancer is still a problem this far in the future with all of this technology.

Ok so this is going to sound nuts but it is what it is. I actually like this book but I don’t want to read it right now. I don’t like slow burns. I mean, they can be fine and this one does seem like it’s good but I’m not in the mood for it. I think I want comfort and safety. So I found it on Hoopla audio and I’ll listen to it instead.

I really like the premise and because of that I’m going to keep going at least for a little while more. But the characters are annoying the shit out of me. Miranda runs hot and cold and seems unnecessarily bitchy. The friend Karen seems like an idiot and I don’t understand why they are friends. There’s just something about the story right now that’s rubbing me the wrong way.

This might be the most bizarre book I’ve ever read. Chapter 19 was insane. Wth is happening? This is almost some game of thrones level shit.

This is a good reminder of why I read insta love, quick, over the top stories. I don’t like angst in any form. This isn’t Colleen Hoover level of angst but still more than I would prefer. I want them to get together already.

Omg it’s a romance novel and they are talking about the female MC having gas. Whattttt

Oh look! And it’s back to Anna now. Yikes.

Ok so while I appreciate that these authors (LD and EG) write very quickly, certain typos are embarrassing. First Jacob’s wife was Anna and now she’s Chelsea. And earlier it seemed like Aspen’s last name was Bell and now it’s Loveall. Bell could have been a middle name but it just seems poorly done.

Did anyone edit this? Now Cam’s mom is just called Franklin? I honestly don’t remember her name but I’m pretty sure that’s not it since it’s also part of Cam’s last name. Unless her mom is Franklin Franklin. Maybe the author meant to put Ms Franklin and forgot the Ms? This makes no sense.

Ouch. Found a few typos already. Called Maria Marie. Called Cam Hyde-Franklin, Cam Parker-Hyde.

Apparently I tried reading this before. I don’t remember it at all. It’s ok so far though.

This is too slow.

I read more than half but it was a struggle. It’s super slow. I stopped at a good endpoint. (Like sort of an end with a slightly positive outlook for the future-ish.) Maybe the next half would have been more interesting but I doubt I will ever find out.

Lmao. This author wrote “schpeel” … like she just sounded it out and said fuck it and carried on. I’m kind of in shock. Spiel is what she meant.

Slow start but then I thought it got better but I’m disinterested again. I’m not totally sure why. Maybe because neither seems all that committed? I don’t know but I am quitting it with no regrets.

Omg 🤦🏻‍♀️ The way Sov talks is ridiculous. He’s speaking to her the way romance authors write. No one says “pierce your virgin channel with my shaft” 🤣🤣🤣 So ridiculous

At this point I’m just guessing at the percentage. But ugh, it’s so unnecessarily awful. Why does it seem like men write this way? The thing with Murdo and Cami and then the thing with the corpse in the cab of the hummer. Awful and gross and kind of over the top.

Why do zombie books always do this? Cant we just focus on surviving the zombies some before we deal with asshole people? Ugh

GOOD LORD THERE ARE SO MANY WORDS! I swear I’ve been reading this forever.
