Jeri is on page 141 of 576 of Saratoga: Turning Point of America's Revolutionary War
Beautiful descriptive phrases: (British snd German soldiers)… Could never have imagined the sight of a whole army, more than 7000 men, costumed as colorfully as songbirds, with brass and steel and silver glinting in the sunlight, and the entire tableau doubled by the mirror images in the water.
Excellent characterizations of the many real individuals who were part of this time and this battle.

So far, not impressed. Simplistic writing. One third of the way through, characters coming at me thick and fast, none memorable. As a non-Filipino, although lots of food mentioned, little to no descriptions given and not at the back of the book, either.

I gave up at 46%. The constant back and forth at each other got on my nerves so bad. For 12 years they wanted each other and he (Brick) was being what-the strong and silent type?
I wondered if I was the only one who was put off by the will she, won’t she. Read reviews. They all said the first half dragged on too long and the second half had too much dirty sex. I’m done. DNF.

I could not get into this book. After I loved Station Eleven so much. Sadly, this was a DNF for me.

I am loving this mid-century interpretation of the beginning of the Revolutionary War. We have just finished The Battle of Bunker/Breeds Hill.

Very well-done, meticulously researched and annotated description of Washington crossing the Delaware, the Battle of Trenton, and the Battle at Assunpink creek.

I forgot how much I love short stories! These stories all have a Native American theme and are really good. Screaming through this book!

Oh Em Gee! I am struggling through this book. Two of my three siblings have told me to give it up. I am mildly interested in the outcome which is the only reason why I am going to finish it. Sabrina Jeffries books are usually funny and quick witted. This one is neither.

Generally, her books grab my attention quickly and are hilarious. I am slowly making my way through this one. 😐

Beautifully written. Similar to The Crawdad book. Young girl raises herself in the wild. Bullied by the townspeople.

Not nearly as good as the first in this series. Jenny and Tom are not as good in main roles. But the story is mildly interesting, so I am soldiering on.

I was surprised this was a stand-alone, having assumed it was the latest in the Pete Decker Rena Lazarus books. This is about a brilliant teenager who is investigating his sisters murder. I find the writing to be choppy, and the characters are not as well fleshed out as they usually are in her books
