I actually like the story so far and I'm curious as to where it's headed so I'll keep reading but the pretentious & tedious prose is just ugh......so off putting. The dialogue also sounds ridiculous to me, I just can't picture teens talking this way.

And then, without warning, the lizard jumped up onto her outstretched hand. Tina could feel its little toes pinching the skin of her palm, and she felt the surprising weight of the animal's body pressing her arm down. And then the lizard scrambled up her arm, toward her face.

Welp.....this fell apart at the end.

Have to say I haven't been able to put this down........

I love catastrophic natural disaster films and books so I'm really enjoying this one so far.

Regan is insufferable.......
