i'm on chapter 17 and i don't get the hype so far.
I've heard this story started out as a short story or a creepypasta of some kind ? It should have stayed as such tbh.

it's a very slow book but i'm enjoying the ride so far

I don't like this, at all. considering dnfing it.

this is not good so far. I can't stand the male MC he's gonna have to do a 180 to become even a bit likeable. Gracie is ok but also so typical of Zapata MC that it's whatever. The first 15% was boring af. And now Gracie is giving me whiplash, she goes from crying to determined to crying to angry to begging for mercy to determined again in 5min.
Also i can't understand why she's so insistent on helping the man.

think i'm gonna dnf this. don't like Knox as a character nor how he limits Naomi. Thus i'm not enjoying the romance. Might skim read or just jump to the last few chapters, idk

you know that feeling when a book is so painfuly unrealistic that it takes you out of it? That was this book is to me. Naomi is the luckiest girl ever like wtf

But trying to get through a book shouldn't be this painful and confusing.
Like book 1 was weird but it made sense, here you just feel lost and get a headache.

i am an hour and half into the audibook and I have absolutly no idea what is going on. I don't understand anything. I don't know where we are or why. I am so confused.

Ok, i guess they're all so awfull to her that she is ready to maybe have them killed. I still maintain we should hzve gotten scenes with her sister. To show how she's different than the rest of the family and why she's worth the risk.

I feel like we should have gotten some scenes with zetian and her sister together. Cause my girl is willing to sacrifice her whole family to avenge her, but we know nothing of her or their relationship. Like, she wants revenger for her older sister which might get her little brother killed and she's ok with that? Make it make sense.

So you're telling me this girl couldn't be sold because she was too ugly but now that she plucked her eyebrows it's fine she's beautiful? That is the silliest thing i've ever read.

I'm sorry but i just do not like this. I get creepy vibes that make me uncomfortable. And as I say i usualy like taboo romances, this one just isn't doing it for me. But here not only am i not feeling this I don't even like the two chacraters so far, so i'm DNFing it at 24%.

PS: The whole cancer plot makes no sense. How is she not half dead because of chemos? Those things wreck you.

I'm only 10% in and i hate it here. This is so fucking stupid AND creepy. Like i'm all for taboo romances and shit, but this grown ass man writting letters to a 7 years old kid is nothing but creepy i'm sorry. Also the kid is now 10 and talks like a wise old woman wtf? And my dude is just talking to her about jail and trauma like wtf? Is this suposed to be cute? It is very much not.

I swear she needs to stop saying that "his hand is touching the back of her neck". I swear. Enough. It's only 21% in, how many more times is she gonna say it for fucks sake
