still having a good time. but the spicy scenes make me remember that dark romance and romance novels in general are being consumed by a predominantly female audience.. and that these books are being written for the female gaze for the most part. (which is not a bad thing by any means it’s just really apparent to me w this). WHY do we have to mention booktok and booktok lingo ugh I hate that in a book lmfao. ladder!

Calista kinda getting on my nerves but maybe she’s exactly the type of persistent that Ronan needs. my heart achesss for young Ronan omggg.

ok lately any book that’s just one man and one woman hasn’t been holding my interest if it’s not fantasy driven BUT that is not the case with this one. apparently all I needed was a dark taboo step uncle/step niece dynamic and some fweaky language and a brewwwwing backdrop of mess/chaos to keep me intrigued. I’m sat! I see why the girlies were recommending this one to me.

started this today and could finish if I wasn’t so sleepy. enjoying it immensely even though it’s suuuuch a quick read. I went into it intentionally because it seemed short and quick but now I’m loving the characters and do t want it to end lol.

no like the Icarus/sun/sea thing almost made me start bawling like a baby

omgggg teddy and henrik are gonna make me swooon. I’m loving this one so much. while the first three books dealt with heavy topics and heavy conversations. the things their dealing with in this one just hit hommmme for me. henrik and teddy are slow BURNNNNING but it’s already so worth it an it makes so much sense why it has to be this way. I already suspected but it’s lovely that henrik is defrosting I’ll say

was wondering how I’d like the beauty and the beast retelling because that is SUCH a classic and a story so near and dear to my heart. after the little mermaid retelling fell flat a little for me I was nervous… I shouldn’t have been! oh my goodness I thought this was another freaky stepbrothers romance why am I sobbing what is happening. this is why I don’t read books that are even remotely sad or deal with grief SO heavily like I am wrecked. truly devastated and I’m only half way through. CE!!! what is THIS honey

omfg wtf did I pick up??? I’ve had this book on my shelf for a few months now and decided to listen to the audio tonight??!! omfg I knew it was gonna be a heavy one and about grief but SHEEEESH. this one is making me want to hug my parents and loved ones

thank goodness we’ve finally (hopefully) moved out of the romantasy book formula realm and it feels like a fresh novel. I’m invested atp and realizing just how long this first book is

as someone who has read and devoured most of the popular romantasy books on the market… this does feel like a bunch of them rolled into one when it comes to certain different things… BUT outside of that there have been a lot of things I enjoy so far. the fmc is spunky and doesn’t take any sh*t. I like that the gods/trials/plot feels fresh and different (for the most part). and Anthony palomino is just YUM. SAT

ugh I just love the way JLA creates a world. I’m sensing some similarities in the start of FBAA and FAF both in this but it is hopefully gonna be much different plot wise. SAT!

one of my absolute favorite micro-tropes is when the characters have to share a tent or a sleeping bag and conserve warmth. idk what it is but it’s so fun bc you know something is gonna pop off 🤭 was NOT disappointed. was gagged actually!! HA!

was nervous to listen to this because it said there wasn’t any narrators and it was a “virtual voice…” BUT I’m enjoying it actually. SAT with the Jesse and Cole messss!! I love when someone comes back to town and their childhood drama and mess has to get unpacked and fixed. the WILL??!!! gagggged.

this is the perfect palette cleansing spicy hockey read that I needed. lovvvve the chemistry between the characters and the amount of spice they got going on. while it’s fun…. the plot outside of the romance/spice is lackkkking for me. hope it ends with a bang.

well I’m a little over half way through of my listen of this and tbh it’s not my favoritttte hockey romance I’ve ever read (so far). and honestly idk if it’s the story or the narrators that I’m not vibing with forreal. like it’s getting spicy and it’s entertaining but I’m not like in looooove. (yet!) I luv the pet names and how freaked out they are though

spent most of my day reading this and holyyyyy cow. SO much has happened. the range of emotions this one has made me feel is insane omgggg. I’ve developed such a connection to these characters I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself once I’m done. wow wow wowww

hot diggity damn it’s all coming to a head now omfgggg. there is SO much going on in this last book there’s so many different perspectives. we got battles, boots knocking, beat downs and SOOOO much more. it’s mayhem! I LOVE ITTTT. I’m so sad I’m almost half way done with this series if I think about it enough I’ll cry

couldn’t help but start the final book. she’s up!! it’s UPPPP!!! that is all. goodnight moon.

raven kennedy’s ability to make you sympathize with characters queen m***** for example but also have you lovvving when they get their come uppance and karma is so real. I love all the different perspectives and how we’re getting more than one love story to hold us over while our to main characters are… iykyk. really enjoying this one so far. but I am atp where I’m ready to another RIP!

RIGHT back into this series like I never left or took a break. there is something about these characters that has made them so near and dear to my heart. I needed to take a break from Auren and Slade’s story because I didn’t want it to end and I needed time to devote and dedicate to them for the last two books. happy to be back INNNITTT

luv me some Bethany Winters. the boys in this one are doing much more reckless things than I’m used to from her work but I’m not complaining. it’s fweaked outtttt because of how long these stepbrothers have known each other. I need released from these shackles!!! but imma eat it up every time. the audio is nice too :/)

oh this is the fweaked out bdsm fairy tale retelling of my dreams I already know it. loooove that Tower is a vampire ugh I miss vampire books sm. and his love interest being a gargoyle? who can turn his **** to stone?! SAT!

ok girlies don’t judge me for this read!!!! I saw one of the dark romance girlies talking about this taboo book and after reading little bird lost I was intrigued to see how an author would handle um. what Nyla K. handles in this one. I’m halfway through and would I recommend it to y’all?? no! (not unless you’re freaked out) (it’s interesting but I see why it got banned no shade) (I’m gonna finish it)
