Hmm, GR has rolled out quarter star ratings. Not sure how I feel about that.

Loved the New Mutants and X-Men story where they head to Asgard. And to get Art Adams to draw it all... So good.

I really enjoyed this 3 parter in Challengers of the Unknown by Gerry Conway. Deadman's in it operating behind the scenes and no one even knows. I forgot how good Keith Giffen's art used to be.

I saw the first story was by Bob Haney and almost skipped it. I should have listened to my gut. It's terrible. We meet Deadman and he possessing a guy walking on a wire across a waterfall. He just leaves the guy and lets him fall.

The Floronic Man just got a contact high from Snowflame. Man, I hope this series stays as good when Cary Bates takes over in issue #3.

A villain from the 1st issue named Hemo Goblin (what a great name!) had AIDS and may have transferred it via a bite to a couple of characters.

Contains one of the first openly gay characters, Extrano. #2 has a villain in it called Snowflame who gets his powers from cocaine.

These Brave and the Bold's at the beginning by Bob Haney are kind of terrible. In the first one Batman uses his Batsense whatever that is.

The Detective run from the 70s is terrific. The random stuff, Legends of the Dark Knight, Batman Chronicles, Legends of the DC Universe, not so much.

Ooh, a bunch of John Scalzi books for $18 in this Humble Bundle. If you like irreverent sci-fi, these are great. Starter Villain and Kaiju Preservation Society are terrific

These Bob Haney stories aren't great. They show Bruce Wayne's parents in a urn in one issue. The problem is that both of them are in the same urn. I guess billionaire Bruce Wayne is a penny pincher.

Almost half way done and it's just OK so far. I really feel the lack of Werther Dell'edera's art.

We finally see what Snake Eyes face actually looks like in GI Joe #93

Much less dependence on adding new toys to the comic than the previous 2 compendiums. I'm glad they got away from Cobra Island.

Not really a novelization. Kind of fills in some of the gaps of things that weren't in Marvels or has them from new perspectives. I'm digging it.

This story by Faith Hunter is bunk. Way too complicated. You need to have read her other stories to gain what's happening in this paramilitary supernatural world.

Kim Harrison's story is set in her world of The Hollows. It's about a demon trying to enslave a wizard who keeps calling the demon in a pentagram. Cool idea but needed to finish more of the story.

Maurice Broaddus's story is about someone helping a ghost get back at some white supremacists. Good idea but not the best execution. The story seemed to be missing some connective tissue.

Delilah Dawson's story is about a woman who suddenly discovers she's a witch and has the power to get even with the man who cheated on her sister.

Tanya Huff's story is about a vampire tracking down someone who tortured and killed a friend of his, just to draw him out.

Holly Black's story was OK. It's about an older woman living in NY when her husband dies. In the same world, a vampire outbreak is happening. She hatches a plan to get away when her kids turn out to be pieces of work.

The Jim Butcher story about Goodman Grey was fun.

Kevin Hearne's story was about a coven of witches in Poland getting revenge on telemarketers for scamming one of their grandmothers.
