The tone changes dramatically from about two-thirds into the book. Sh Keller adopts an almost no-nonsense tone describing the seriousness and discipline the shadhili tariqa requires of its followers. It has several rules that are further explained in detail - both the reasons and consequences of disrespect and not following them.

I'm enjoying the candid style of Dutta's book and look forward to reading it on my short bus and train journeys. Especially like the chapter on David and Goliath's comparison to winning professional combats. Keller's writing is lucid, eloquent and informing. Details in the stories of the sheiks and the mannerisms in which they emulate their Sufi ways, bring the reader in to the inner circles of the discourse. His personalized accounts are heartwarming. A definite recommend for seekers on the Sufi path.
