This book desperately needs an editor. The whole first chapter says his theme is human nature and compares his writing to a MasterChef that starts with bland food and escalates to more rich food overtime.

I can’t read this slowly enough. The hero decides to live fast and die young and proves it with broken spears and smashed chariots and chasing the unattainable hot girl Emer, who tells him to kill a mountain of people before she will marry him. Brutal rejection.

Drama: Ambrosio in post nut clarity wants to turf Mathilda out but suddenly he goes mad and four strong monks must hold him down.

This book has more solid drama per paragraph than any other single book I have ever read.

Justly considered a masterpiece, the opening epigraph casts a magic spell and the introduction of the characters confirms it.

Fielding promises his book will be decent and admirable.

He says it is easier to make good men wise than to make bad men good, since only indiscretion can injure innocence. He wants to laugh us out of vice.

That’s his preface and the 1st hundredth of the novel.

First line sentence fragment followed by lame poetic general description. Amateurish.

Rosario has a frantic discussion with his friar Ambrosio on the dread of hermitage in a grotto and the death of his sister Mathilda from love of the pure and cruel Julian. Draaaama! Then the big reveal!

The second part of this book the key concepts, revolve around measuring customer lifetime value, dominating, systemic analysis, and creative flexibility.

Pretty basic business school stuff

21 chapters. Skill comes from using concepts to ask questions. The skills are research, competitive analysis, positioning, choosing the battlefield, diversion, exploiting gaps, and applying growth tactics. There’s 1 chapter for each skill.

Book would benefit from a restructure.
