I guess I actually never read this one before - none of it is familiar. I first read Lirael when it was published, and then I moved to a different state and my life took a different path. I guess I never checked to see when the third book in the trilogy came out. So, happy to be finally reading it and to find out how things ended up (25 years later)!

It's been more than 25 years since I first read this (I wasn't much older than Sabriel then). I was worried it wouldn't hold up, but so far, I'm completely sucked in. Such an interesting world.

This book is so delightful!

Last night, I was trying to decide which book from my pile I should read next. I thought I would read the first page or two of a few of them to see what struck me. This was the first book I picked up, and 40 pages later, it was clear that I wasn't going to consider any of the others from the pile this time. I think this will be a fast read. So far, I'm liking it more than the first book in the series, too.

I really can't stand JBF. Less horrible politics, more sciency, life-saving stuff! This current section bouncing back and forth between her and the other plot event is so painful. It's still well done, but I can't wait to get to the end of this section.

These essays are delightful!

This one had a very slow start, but now it's really going places. I am especially enjoying the Olli and Kit sections.

I forgot how much humor this book has - so fun!
