Good so far. Not sure why everyone in the comments are hating on it. One guy claims that the character Willow isn't even in the book... lol

So I got curious and read some of the comments on here about this book. I can certainly understand why some of them say what they say. However I find no fault with her writing style. Except maybe with the last chapter. I'm as supportive as I can be to the feminist cause.. However she seemed to have gone towards militant feminist there for a minute lol. Still love the book, her writing style, and everything in-between

I already knew a lot about this lady before I started the book. However the Author Heather Demetrios does and incredible job of pulling you into the story. The style, the language, the irreverent humor. Great so far!

Third time reading it. So I'd say that speaks for itself as to the level of 'good-ness'of the book is. Lol

How in the heck did we win the revolutionary war. Cheese and crackers these people were a bunch of self important, pampered babies.

Extremely interesting. I had no idea that the military leadership and political leadership of the founding members of our country were in fact junior high school girls.

I'm sure I'm just being a jerk...

But chapter one of a book published the year Obama takes office features
1. A small Nigerian boy.
2. The title Sick Monkeys.
3. Ebola
4. The same Nigerian boy nicknamed Monkey Catcher.

So yeah. This is going to be a fun book.

Early thoughts before I even read page one of the book. Let's see how I do.
1. Averell Torrent is some sort of Caligula or Julius Caesar mixture.
2. Cole and Cecily have either gotten married or are dating or will date during this book.

And the dialog will still be horrible.

Wow. Just wow. Review coming later today when I have time to sit down and write it. But don't expect much if you're going to read it. This is definitely one of those check your brains at the door books. (Think Brad Thor mixed with Suzanne Collins)

I've been reading a lot of politics and political history and war books lately. And with the news of the US potential new civil war and the crap going on in Ukraine I need to take a break. So I'm reading a book about a possible future US civil war... yeah.

Couple notes
1. My major emphasis in school was the civil war so other than the broad strokes I don't know much about the revolutionary war. That being said... Holy cow was every man then such a freaking diva. Cheese and crackers.
2. Why in the name of god did the British not send some of it's 30 boats!! On the West side of Valcour Is?? How could they not? Especially since they had Iroquois on the shore later??

Thus far the book is very well laid out. Mr. Brumwell does an excellent job of laying out the facts as they are known and pointing out when they are dubious at best.

So far really well done. As always for her. Finished the first bit in Abraham Lincoln's early life and career. He has always fascinated me so I didn't learn too terribly much new. But it is always interesting to see things from another's perspective.

I have always been fascinated by history and in particular American History. There is hardly a more well known traitor to America, other than ANYONE associated with helping the confederacy, than Benedict Arnold. I can't wait to read about him.

A book about Politics, the news media, and the emerging force that will be the internet; all with the backdrop of the Clinton-Lewinsky trist!? Yes please. And this is all pre-social media. I'm very excited.
