Last few days of a Libby loan so I decided to see if I could finish. Got 50% in and just a few hours left. Got more interested once it got medical, all the worries about sex and who does what was tedious.

Hate to finish. Will be hard to find another as engaging. It’s a little disjointed at times. Jumping from person to person with also jumps back and forth in time but O’Farrell pulls it off

reminds me most of Heatwave by this author. Another person running away mysterious from their life. In Heatwave the reader followed the family reaction particularly the wife and in this we follow the person running--an ex-actress attempting to escape all that is her life. Love the audio with male and female narrators for the male and female voices. Also reminds me a little of my favorite book--Beautiful Ruins

Audible credit. Wasn't sure but it is an Audible Only so I knew I wouldn't be finding it elsewhere.

Rather slow going but interesting enough that I am invested now. More character than action. Alot of time in descriptions of landscapes and abodes and dress but the characters are so internal.

what a joy of a listen. Kids in mixed marriages is definitely a theme Patchett returns to again and again. Glad it is a happier story than The Dutch House and I'm loving the narration by the author

Still in these pages. A lot of palace politics. I am invested in the characters, always Kay's strong suite. I've had an harder time with the maps. Thankfully there is a few in the opening pages. I don't really see the early Spain connection but the small kingdoms rings so true.
