"Once a New Yorker, always a New Yorker". so true a feeling during the days after 9/11. For younger people today it is one of those historical moments that stays. Even for my son who had lived most of his life in California but was born and lived in NYC till he was 4 months old who knew NYC as his birth place and was 12 at the time of 9/11 has strong memories of the day and watching on TV.

This book has taken an interesting turn. At first I was interested in how Loneliness manifests itself, now it is a much more complex story. Glad so far it has not turned into a cringy romance

A character study family saga with a romance hanging over it. Will they or won't they? I keep reading wondering if or how they will come together and would that be too easy for the complex story

passed the 100 last night and I am hooked. Mostly reading the print as I got confused at first with names and people on audio and had to start over. Now characters well established and may start back with audio. Do love the narration but there is so much great writing here I want to see and copy down.

started listening and now reading print. The beginning was a bit confusing on audio for me and I wanted the family tree so i put the audio on hold till a print copy became available. I wanted to get to something off my own shelves but after reading Mother Mary Comes to Me I was in the mood for more India. So here goes. Will read at least the first 100 pages before I commit to 600+

Best book I've listened to in eons. Loved, loved The God of Small Things. Most interesting memoir and best since Brooks Memorial Days--a 5 star from last year. Roy reads and writes beautifully. Don't hesitate--get the audio, you won't be able to put it down.
