Hey friends! I'm in the mood for a historical romance that's new-to-me. Lisa Kleypas, Lorraine Heath, Elisa Braden, Jennifer Ashley I've already read. In fact, I've read a LOT of historical romance by many different authors, but something within the styles of those four.

Anyone got a recommendation to share?

If you read an entire book and then return it for a refund, you're a thief. I don't want to know you. You know you're doing harm, but you don't care. Simple rule for being a worthwhile person: don't be a jerk.

So how long are notifications going to be FUBAR? It's been going on for a long time and no end in sight. What a pain.

Hey Friends. Author, Pamela Clare, has been sick -- prob w/ COVID-19 based on symptoms but can't get tested -- and that's slowing down her ability to get her next book out. She's an indy so that's a very big deal when it happens. If you're looking for something new to read, maybe think about trying her out so she can make a little money while she's laid up. Her romantic suspense books are the best in the genre, IMO.

So beautiful, and yet so incompetent at being a shoe.

Kleypas does have a way of making me LOL.

Oh, I am loving this! JAL is so good at historical romance. I love both of these leads so much. I can't wait until they find their HEA together. *faints from too much gushing*

In what story do we find out that Dali is sacred?

All my library holds come through at the same time. Even if I'm at vastly different spots on the wait lists. It's diabolical.

Having a very hard time getting into this one. The library's going to snatch it back soon too, so I need to focus!

Okay, there's some crazy happening, but so far the overall story is holding up. Plenty of time left to go Kindle-thrower, but so far so good. Fingers crossed it keeps up!

So far so good, but now I'm at 50%. This is where things usually start to go haywire. 😬

I will not be voting in the semifinals of the "choice" awards. Even though there are books I like in each of my favored categories, there are others left off for no good reason except the whim of GR staff. Why involve the readers at any point? And how do we know our votes are counting for anything in the final count? We certainly don't know how the original ballot is decided upon. It's a sham.

First my profile is somehow rating books I've never heard of and now my whole feed is filled with a week or two worth of blog posts from the authors I follow.

So I got a couple of "likes" on a rating for a book I've never heard of. Somehow a 5 star rating was posted for this book from my profile. Has anyone ever seen something like this before?

I have been such a lucky reader lately. First Megan Whalen Turner's "Thick as Thieves", then "Monster Hunter Siege" eARC, and now "White Hot" just came through from the library. I've been in reading heaven. I'm going to have such a hangover!

This is my first Elizabeth Hunter. I picked this up because Grace Draven likes her books and I love Grace Draven.

Fingers crossed I find a new must read author!

I'd forgotten all about this story and there it sat on my Kindle just waiting for me to discover it. What a nice surprise!

Have you ever bailed on a series you had once been fully committed to? How hard was it? Why did you quit? Do you still feel compelled to buy the new installments when they come out? I'm putting together a blog post about this subject and I'm interested to see what other people's experiences have been.

I've already highlighted so many lines in this book. Classic Kleypas. I'm loving it!
