I'm in a really bad, really long reading slump... So I'm audiobooking this one and really enjoying it!

I've been in a serious reading slump this year, so everything is going at snail pace. But this is genuinely such a cool book!

Finally starting my summer read, I'll probably take like 2 months but I genuinely cannot wait!!!

Really easy to read so far, very flowy writing style, and quite gripping as well because of how human it all is <3

Waaaaay too bored, I've read that it picks up at around the 50% mark but that means I still have so much left and I don't know if I have it in me... Might dnf

I'll be honest: this either starts picking up the pace or I'm unfortunately out... It's interesting and I know we are still in the world building phase but it's soooo slooooow

Everyone is so judgy from the get go with Dokgo. I know he keeps proving them wrong and it makes me feel so warm inside when they do realize how kind hearted he is, but it still breaks my heart because he shouldn't have to prove anything 3

At this point I'm just finishing this book to be done with it. I'm also still curious about how it will end though! But overall it's not gripping me enough because the author drags way too much... the main problem for me truly is the writing style :/

I'm starting to get kinda bored 😭 I'll give it until the 50% mark to see how I feel, if I stay bored I'll put this book on hold and wait until one of my best friends wants to buddy read it ^^;

We move slowly but surely. Things are definitely getting more interesting - I'm very curious about anything regarding Holsten and Kern, and getting more and more into Portia's storyline has been fun!

chapter 2.5 was so so so good!!! but unfortunately all the Portia chapters are so boring, I actually actively dread them whenever I see that they're next 😭 it's either the slowest burn or I don't know...

More intriguing than I ever thought, although I was more into the 1912 bit than, so far, the 2020 one

This is such a beautiful book with an even better message! I haven't been able to read much lately because of ✨️life✨️ but also mood (been more into movies lately!) but whenever I pick this up it's like a warm hug in book form... so accessible and beautiful!

The story is so good and the world building and magic system are really interesting, but they're buried under a very juvenile writing (I know the author got better with time though!) and plain characters, apart from Kelsier.... At this point I find it very unlikely of me to pick up the next in the trilogy, but I will definitely read Stormlight at some point in the future though!

I absolutely adore the way Sanderson writes, which leaves me at ease because it means I'll most likely enjoy his other works that I really want to read. But this book.... I really don't know if I'm just not interested enough??? overthrowing the government and eating the rich is right up my alley, like, *right up my alley*, so why isn't this working for me 😭😭😭

I keep telling myself this book will blow my socks off at some point in order to motivate myself but to be completely honest it's not thaaat gripping. Some chapters are so amazing I lose track of time, but most, for now, are kinda meh. Not boring but not super interesting either. I also keep thinking how I'll read a whole trilogy when I'm already semi struggling with the first installment 😭

The plot's been slow but hopefully it starts picking up now because otherwise I'll feel kind of demotivated to continue on with the series... I really like Kelsier though, and eating the rich, so I'm holding on to that lmao

several thoughts: koen's character is super straight woman coded, respectfully, but he is; not a fan of modern slang making it into the book, I don't care who is "galaxy brain", and this also contrasts a lot with the author then using words I've never heard of (but I love that for me), and finally Koen does not, at all, talk like a 36 year old. I can buy Serena buying 25 any day, Koen being 36 however...

not only do I have several problems with the popularity of Fourth Wing and what that did and implied to the publishing world but also one of the things I feared most is happening: the male leads now call the main characters the cringiest nicknames and the reader is supposed to think it's cute and sexy and ✨️different✨️. calling Serena "killer"? are you serious? with a beautiful name like Serena? istfg
