My hold for this ran out at the library so I am eagerly anticipating it’s return to figure out how they survive the winters moving forward and become a badass lady clan of homesteaders that fight the system they are currently enraging amongst the neighbouring communities. Also I hope our main character and the doctor get their Mack on.

I find the main character insufferable. Actually I have not found a single character I’m rooting for in this book yet. I’ve committed to finishing this for bookclub though, so I’ll ride the wave and hope for redeeming qualities! Parts remind me of stardust, beauty and the beast, and very loosely the Hunger Games.

So far this book is fucking dumb. The main character annoys me so much and I feel sad for her. I’ll probably finish it to see where this goes but I want to throw this book across the room out of annoyance
