I am elated to have finally reached a part of the book where I don't have to see the story from inside Herr Loeser's head. His obsession with the activities (or inactivities) of his genetalia grew tiresome after even just a few chapters. I am so grateful to be rid of him even for just a little while. The story's turned wonderfully creepy and the small hints from the early part of the book are coming together.

Finally, something interesting is happening. I'm all for unreliable narrators, and I don't have to like the characters, but come ON I have to at least enjoy reading. Until the just the last few chapters I've been reading just to get through it. I'm finally being rewarded. I only wish there had been more glimpses of a story outside the protagonist's head earlier on to keep me entertained til now.

I really like the writing style, but I nearly gave up because I hate pretty much everyone in the book, but once I got a third of the way through there was a funny enough scene that prompted me to keep going.

I've picked this up and put this down so many times. It's not that I don't like it, I really do, I just haven't had brains good enough for reading these last few years. I'm not going to restart, but I'm determined to get through it.

Having seen the movie several times, I am looking forward to reading the book. Jesse gave it to me for my birthday (Dec. 2014).

Okay. For real this time. I have liked all of what I've read thus far (the three times I've tried to read it), so I don't know what's kept me from continuing. Distraction, I suppose. Well, here goes. Picking up where I last left of. I refuse to start from page one again.

I'm loving this so far. Makes me want to re-read the books. I'm pretty sure I haven't read all of them anyway.

Just when a character makes up their mind about something, or learns something, they choose the opposite with no explanation.

I find I enjoy reading this more when I read it in larger chunks. More stuff happens. Still not a fan of the flowery language.
