I don’t think this books is exactly what I expected. I still like most of the essays nonetheless, but sometimes the connection between lived experiences and the themes of the movies feels a little forced or even nonexistent.

I’m only on chapter one, but it started strong, with already a first encounter. I’m intrigued, wondering how much buildup there will be to anything, considering how short this book is.

Madeline Miller’s writing style and pacing gets you hooked from the very beginning.

I may have been extra emotional last night, but I identified so much with the Friendship chapter, that I cried a little… and it’s only chapter 3.

It’s so comforting and reaffirming to read any type of media where I relate to the narrator so much. This doesn’t happen often.

Compré este libro porque estaba buscando ensayos cortos, y porque estaba en rebaja, y como era la feria del libro me dejé llevar por el título. Leí apenas el principio del resumen de la contraportada… no tenía idea que era sobre retretes… o baños… ahora que lo empecé a leer me pareció gracioso al principio, pero todavía no me captura…
