this is taking me soooooo long to read. was not expecting to not get into a TJ Klune book

It's possible that later I will consider this night to be the first time I really meet Noah, and the first time he really meets me. It is as if a switch is thrown. I appear, because someone else finally sees me. Or maybe he sees me because I finally allow myself to appear in a true form.

He often though about that: time. How interminable it could be, and then in a blink of an eye, years have gone by

I find this so selfish. It's not only his things that disappear, but everyone else's too. All movies, and what they mean to everyone. All cats, not just his. Not once has he really thought about that, only the impact on himself.

I got so caught up with all the little every day tasks that I ended up wasting the time that I could have been spending on more important things. But the scariest thing is that I never even noticed that I was wasting my own precious time. If only I had stopped for a moment to get some perspective away from all that running around I was doing, it would have been obvious what the most important thing was.

Had I done anything significant during my 30 year existance? Had I spent time with the people I really wanted to spend time with? Had I said all that needed to be said to the people who mattered? Did I call my mother as much as I should have?

He keeps calling her by her last name and I know it's supposed to be cute, and it would be in any other situation. But this girl has spent her whole life trying to do what her mom wants her to do and follow her ice skating legacy. Literally trying to prove she's worthy of being her daughter. But she's not her mom or her sister or her last name, she's just Matilda.
