Barbara is reading Mother Tongue: The Surprising History of Women's Words
Not what I expected but interesting and enlightening. The author does not hide her purpose in writing the book.

Barbara is reading Book and Dagger: How Scholars and Librarians Became the Unlikely Spies of World War II
Interesting story about analysis by professionals such as librarians and professors who worked for OSS during WWII. Editing could have been tighter and I object strongly to her characterization of archivists.

I could share the intense emotions the author included in this book. Very disturbing and eye opening. Amazing story of Palestine

I enjoyed learning about the effect of the Revolution on the indigenous people but got bogged down in the details. Maybe a "cast of characters " before each chapter would have helped. Bottom line, the indigenous people were screwed.

Barbara is finished with Wings Of Fire (Inspector Ian Rutledge #2)
I was looking for mysteries set in Scotland, not Scotland Yard but took this anyway and really enjoyed it. The characters ate well rounded and the author captures the ambiance of the English coast and the ravages wrought with WWI. Ready to read another
