The book is supposed to be about a cop who travels back in time to the 1800s. So far it’s been 15 pages of a flashback to the main character, Dakota’s, early days on a special task force, as we follow him, along with his partner, Derrick, on an investigation that is going nowhere fast. Looks like the next 100 pages or so are part of this, which has nothing to do with the plot.
