Aha! At the opening of “The Musgrave Ritual,” Holmes has just become untidy and prone to setting off guns indoors, after existing for ~7 years with unmentioned un/tidiness status (but a tendency to cross-index as a quiet evening amusement which had bent the original depiction toward organization).

I started this months ago but with too few days on the library loan, and thus have been waiting for my SECOND hold to come up. Which is unpleasant because I was really digging it! But I guess never mentioned here that I was reading it?!

Can’t remember what finally spurred me to put this on my holds list from my vague mental “someday” list, but finally going to read it! (Maybe someone mentioned it in a Letterboxd review of Train Dreams?)
