I studied Sachs' theories on growth economics in college and picked up this book because of that familiarity. So far, it's a compelling historical framing of the economic & political landscape in America today (~2010).

Struggling with this book because I am so drawn to the premise but cannot relate to the author in the slightest. The parts about hiking are great; the parts about her life are exhaustingly repetitive.
