Good. Hard to get into but an eye opening look at a people being shoved aside & ignored. The novel deals with life.

Surprisingly exciting

One of the best of many good ones. Digger of course had a leading role. And no dogs died. The chronology was a but challenging to follow but the action was non-stop. Rex's vetting of the CRC team sent to find him was hilarious. Things didn't go smoothly at the end but it all worked out. (no spoilers) Rex stands for himself and himself only. There's a new beginning just like in Star Wars!! I'm excited for that.

Reading this gives a lovely insight into the world of tea (plantations) and societal expectations & norms in 2 distinct time periods. You are very much in the first person tellings of 2 women in different time periods & cultural norms. It’s easy to pick up & put down while chewing on what’s happening in their worlds.
It’s also a soft revelation of the cultural heritage each is facing. I’ve been listening on Audible

This is definitely a coming of age story. beautiful prose and imagery. Language is
dated but not an issue. It's lovely and so evocative. Reminds a bit, at this point, of Look Homeward Angel' I'm having problems really getting into the story to get the most from it. I think I need to put it aside for a bit, the luxury of retirement. I need to finish Gengkis Khan and read a different genre beforehand.
