I'm quite eclectic as far as reading goes and I like to mix it up with random books and authors I stumble upon. This is essential to breaking up the monotony of the current trend(ie Academy, Bully, BDSM, etc). This book was totally random, and it's still early but I despise the main character Alex! Hopefully I'll get over it and everything will be right in the world. 🤞

So this has been quite disturbing and it doesn't let up... when it comes to books I'm definitely not a quitter, but I really don't know how I'm gonna finish the last 65%!? 2000+ pages of rape and torture with tiny flecks of affection given by your tormentors...um I'll try a bit more but I almost would rather someone give me an abridged version and tell me what happens so I can save hours of my life! Ugh

I'm 20% into book 3, and I still have the same issues with the story as before, Kora! She is the main character and is supposed to be a strong heroine stepping up to save and liberate the slaves, yet she continues to allow Trent to manipulate and verbally abuse her!? Trent is horribly controlling, jealous, abusive, and Kora has blinders on preventing her from seeing the truth. Well finger crossed it gets better.

I am overwhelmingly annoyed by the main character. It is extremely frustrating when then main character who you're supposed to like and support, yet you discover is an absolute idiot! Kora is annoying and childish. The story itself isn't bad, but she is pushing my patience to where I'm having a difficult time reading this. I'll finish the series regardless but her character is driving me nuts!
