gaaaaawwwwwdddd I hope they all die and become mushroom food, they're all insufferable assholes

Loving this so far - it's like a more depressing, plague-oriented, overtly religious version of The Bright Sword. The only disappointment so far is the horror aspect, nothing has struck me as particularly horrific (aside from maybe the statues-at-night bit). Has the same surreal medieval practical fantasy feel of The Buried Giant.

awwww yeah finally on to the mysterious grouchy fae with the murder steed

what am I doing with my life

I am CONCERNED for this MC what the ****

I'm not really sure why I'm still listening to this, nothing in particular is very compelling at this point...

Ugh at least this isn't a long book I guess

This bish is real whiny. I am not thrilled.

😍😍😍 so good so far!

10/10 already in love cannot wait to hear this whole story!

gooooooood loooooooorrrrrd how many more chicken eggs are left

HOW IS THIS ONLY 61% OF THE WAY THROUGH, OH MY GOD IT GOES FOREVER

This is whelming. At best.

Well, you can't name your mysteriously eastern European pretty lady Camila and not expect me to automatically assume the horror novel I was so eager for is not, in fact, about vampires. Boo.

what the fk am i reading ???

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Well, so far it feels like a fairly blatant rip off of Ender's Game. I'll wait a while for the originality but it's disappointing.

Damn, this book does not mess around! Right into it and still so much left to go. I don't usually enjoy first person narrative but this is well done! The setting is terrifying and so far I can't tell what the Big Disaster will have been.
