Well, so far it feels like a fairly blatant rip off of Ender's Game. I'll wait a while for the originality but it's disappointing.

Damn, this book does not mess around! Right into it and still so much left to go. I don't usually enjoy first person narrative but this is well done! The setting is terrifying and so far I can't tell what the Big Disaster will have been.

I'm not even half way done yet and I cannot believe how engrossing this story is.

I really do love this book-- one interesting thing, though, is that the name Lorna was created in 1869, which would have been more than 30 years after the events of this novel.
